The Awful Waffle Pancake Breakfast - 7:30 – 11:00

Sponsored by the Shortsville Manchester Area Chamber of Commerce. The event is a traditional indoor pancake breakfast open to the public to benefit the Host of the Wild Water Derby Weekend. The breakfast is held inside the Red Jacket School (Route 21 / Water Street). Funds generated are applied to the 2009 Wild Water Derby.

Dollars for Scholars Walkathon - 10:00am
|
|
|
Sponsored by the National Honor Society. The event is a traditional walkathon and is cosponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and involves local students and guest walking a designated route through the villages. Registration, starting line is located at the Red Jacket School Auditorium Entrance and will finish at the Shepard Ford tent in Budd Park.
Funds raised are applied directly to a variety of Educational Scholarships. Awards for most money raised will be announced at the public barbeque that evening.

WWD Race Registration - 8:00 – 10:30
|
|
|
Bib hand outs, insurance forms and all associated registration information for ALL racing events. Collectable WWD “dog tags” handed out to the earliest check ins. Registration will be located at the school until the conclusion of the mandatory Derby “Safety Meeting” after which it will be moved to the Main Tent at Budd Park

|
|
Back room of the Red Jacket School cafeteria. This is mandatory for all Saturday paddlers and their teams. Paddlers must show hand stamp prior to entering the water.

Vendor Booths and Displays - 11:00 til |
|
|
A variety of vendors, crafts, and activities set up at Budd Park similar to what you would find at other festivals. Booth set up will take place early Saturday morning and will remain until Sunday afternoon. The Chamber will have volunteers during the night to maintain a certain level of security.

Raft Parade & Pre-Destruction Viewing - 11:30
|
|
|
A line up of all of the home made rafts will be on display and parked on Water Street. Spectators are encouraged to take a close look at each and cast a vote for “The Most Impressive Raft.” Winners will be announced that evening at the public BBQ. At 11:30, the rafts will be paraded to the starting line. |

The Wild Water Derby Race - 12:00 til |
|
|
Sponsored by New Energy Works. The traditional kayak, canoe, raft race. Start time is 12:00 noon with 2 minute intervals between launches. Music and commentary by Jim Kerins at the main viewing area.
The “Ugly Paddle” Contest
6:00
A no-cost contest that evening at the public BBQ highlighting the worst and best paddles used during a Wild Water Derby Race. Submissions will be on display in the Main Tent. Awards will be announced at the public BBQ that evening with winners receiving the first dinners on the house.

BBQ, Music & Bonfire - 6:15 – 9:00
|
|
|
Sponsored by Shepard Ford. Open to the public. The BBQ is held inside a giant enclosed 60’X150’ heated and lit tent at the park area in Shortsville. Tent will accommodate seating for 600 people at one time. Music and commentary by Jim Kerins with slide show of past events compliments of “The Country Studio” along with awards for events held earlier in the day.

Wild Indian Bike/Run Duathon - 10:00
|
|
|
A mini-Duathon (1 mile run, 5 mile bike, 1 mile run) to start the spring without embarrassing anyone still recovering from winter hibernation along Paddleford Creek, local roads, and on established trails in private local woods. The “winners” are randomly drawn based on enthusiasm and attire. Extra consideration for family / team entries and mud. Race route is under design but will include both on road and off road biking.
Brunch, Lunch & Munch
A variety of concessions provided by local non-profits in Littleville and at the Park. Proceeds benefit a variety of causes ranging for Food Pantry, Seeing Eye Dogs, Polio Immunizations, Educational Scholarships and families in need.

Kayak & Canoe Slalom Races - 12:00
|
|
|
A traditional 1,200 ft slalom course with 18 gates set up between the mill and the Thresher. Jim Kerins will also be providing commentary and music. Organized by Jr. Olympic Coach and Kayak Adventures Director.
Old Mill Kayak Drop, Jump & Sprint
Professional and serious kayakers will paddle and jump over the falls. Furthest jump out wins. Jim Kerins will also be providing commentary.

Awards Ceremony

Staged at various times in the event tent, or at the main viewing area, during the afternoon for each racing category as they are reported. A display board with action photos will also be located inside the tent. |
